We have had numerous resourceful customers that have ordered multiple units and then assembled them to fit their openings. Remember, the mount strips can be trimmed to fit just like the height of each panel. The best way to approach a wide opening is to order 2 or 3 shutter sets that add up to the width of the opening you want to cover. The width of each panel in a given shutter set can be determined by subtracting 4.5" from the maximum width shown for a given shutter set. Then divide by the number of panels in the box and you will have the width of each panel in the box. (i.e. a 27"- 29" wide 2-panel shutter set will have (2) 12.25"-wide panels in the box, subtract 4.5" from 29" and divide by 2 or 4 as appropriate.) The more resourceful customers even remove the pre-installed hinges and re-hinge the panels in a bi-fold configuration. I suggest you visit the measuring and installation link for some more ideas.
