"Just wanted to let you know that I installed my shutters in the bi-fold style since my window was too wide for the discount shutter sizes.

I followed the suggestions from your creative installations section. I took the two extra mounting strips and attached them at the bottom and the top of the shutter to add support and create the appearance of shutters mounted on the inside of the window sill.

I am attaching a photo of the shutters although the top strip isn't installed yet, you can see how the bottom strip gives a nice finished appearance."

"Thought I would send you a drawing of the shutter installation that I made utilizing two different widths of standard discount shutters.

It took a little switching of hinges to achieve a bi-fold effect in order to fit the window size. The drawing was made to scale to illustrate what I was talking about in my E-mail of 12/28. Although the center dividers are not the same, it does create an interesting affect. I will send you an actual photo next week when they come back from the processor. I haven't gone to the digital camera yet, so I will have to rely on the old photo bit.

Thank you so much for taking the time to discuss things by E-mail. It sure is unusual for a CEO of any business to take the time out of his day to correspond with a minor purchaser.

"I installed two sets of white plantation shutters in the bi-fold pattern to cover a wide window. I had to order two different widths to fit this window and had to cut them along the top and the bottom to fit inside the frame of the window. I also installed magnetic catches to hold the shutters in place. It is very difficult to distinguish that the two sets are actually different widths. Attached is a photo."Thanks.
