CONSTRUCTION

Master craftsmanship - Experienced, proud American craftsmen with multi-generational experience using the best wood, latest technology, vibrant finishing and premium packaging to insure you receive the finest furniture-quality hardwood plantation shutter available.


40-year relationship with Weyerhaeuser, insures the proprietary grades of Western Red Alder is delivered in the specific grade, size and moisture content necessary for the production of consistently high quality product we enjoy manufacturing for you.


ALL wood components are produced in by our millwork division allowing tight quality control in our own climate controlled plant. Raw materials are stored and milled to finish profiles, cut to order sizes, manufacturing is accomplished, finishing is completed and last your special order is packaged for shipment all in climate controlled conditions. This special effort insures consistent wood water content, virtually eliminates warping, maximizes finish quality and insures your expectations are exceeded with the finished products.


Manufacturing process uses European machine technology for precision woodworking. Our tolerances are +or- two one thousandths of and inch. This means better light control plus a very consistent close fit for each louver and consistency in panel size.


Stiles and rails as well as hanging strips are "book matched" for a professional and consistent look.


3/8" x 3" fluted dowels are precision glued on 1" centers minimum 3 per joinery. Makes for a very strong shutter panel that won't sag over the years.


All panels are factory mortised for our proprietary named stamped 3" heavy duty hinges.


Heavy gauge Stainless Steel staples are used to attach the louvers to each tilt rod. Eliminates corrosion and staple pull out.


Self-lubricating nylon pivot pins allow smooth louver rotation and the proprietary adjustable louver tension system holds the louvers where you desire them.


Custom color matching is one of our specialties. We know how important color and stain choices are. We will send 3 color match samples for your approval on an Western Red Alder louver that accurately demonstrates the color you will receive. The choice of three in the same color with slightly different tones to maximize the best choice for your light and color conditions that exist at your project.


Packaging and shipping is as important as each previous step. After all if you receive a damaged perfect shutter it will make your experience less than satisfactory. Our custom designed packaging isolates each panel with special isolators, boxed in heavy corrugated cardboard with wooden end blocks to prevent crushing. Moldings and hardware are wrapped in protective paper and packaged in heavy cardboard tubes. One last thing, our shipping cartons are 95% recyclable. Even the ink on the boxes is biodegradable.


Touch-up paint is included for those final touch ups after installation is complete.


Warranty - Woodfold-Marco Mfg., Inc. warrants to the original retail purchaser that Woodfold Shutters, properly installed, will be free from defects in construction, workmanship and materials, other than those caused by normal wear and tear, for 5 years from the date of shipment to the original purchaser.
